No. Right now, I'm just trying to get the rice correct. It's versatile, so I want a good foundation before I get into more complicated things. Everything else is just for nutrients.

[He watches the way those brows draw together, curious for approximately two seconds, before Akaza's words alleviate any suspicions he might have had. It's guilt, it always seems to come back to that. It's not as if he doesn't understand why Akaza feels like that, all things considered, but...]

I see! In that case - how long do you plan on punishing yourself for that happened?

[As usual, his tone is even. There isn't an accusation there, but plain, unabashed curiosity.]

[Well. Kyojuro barely manages to clap a hand over his mouth as he effectively spits his most recent bite out. He stares, incredulously, at the other man. Give him a second to clean himself up and -]

[... long-suffering sigh.]

[Well, alright then. Back he goes to munching. And commenting on his munches. Rip to Akaza.]

[it's fine. soon enough he'll pop the lid off the rice, give it a quick stir, and plop some into a free bowl. to his credit, this serving is cooked much better than the previous attempt.]

[By now, Kyojuro has probably finished his other snacks, so he quickly turns his attention to the rice. It isn't nearly as watery, nor is it served with an aggressive amount of lemon. Not that he complained before, nor is he complaining now.]

Excellent work! [Just based off of visual presentation alone. But then he takes a bite and -] Delicious!

[Brother it is just rice.]

[it's entirely possible that kyojuro is just saying that. it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that he does this with every bite of food he eats, no matter how repulsive it is.

even so, something in akaza's chest throbs.

he quickly moves away, back toward the stairs.]

[And just as quick as he asks the question, he finds himself feeling silly. There might not be much of a smell to rice for him, but he can only imagine what it's like for Akaza.]
